Great episode. Really struck a nerve with me, as I strive to be part of the professional community, and be cooperative with other performers. But it seems like the community in this area is insular and backbiting. The local magic shop owner told me he used to post people’s restaurant nights but he doesn’t anymore because other performers would go to that restaurant and offer to work for less. How lazy! There are so many restaurants. Anyway, thanks for the positive thoughts, and keep up the good work!

There really is a lot of back-biting around and there is no need, as you say, there is plenty of work for us all. I guess it is easy to be lazy and take work from others.
Have you tried reaching out to the other professionals in your area?
